Membership donations and annual gifts are HCT’s lifeblood. Bequests and other planned giving (click here for more information) have enabled HCT to achieve even greater conservation success. There are additional and unique giving opportunities in our “Wish List” below that will also enable us to expand and accelerate our conservation achievements. You make land conservation possible.

Land Acquisition:

$2,500 to contract a title examiner to research high priority land prospects

$5,000 to revise HCT’s Priority Open Space Ranking & Mapping Project designed to identify priority properties for conservation

$1,500,000 to endow a permanent, full-time Land Acquisition Specialist staff position for tracking, cultivating, and completing HCT’s core mission of preserving important lands

$2,500,000 or more to dramatically increase HCT’s Land Preservation Fund for the acquisition and permanent protection of priority properties

Land Stewardship (also called Land Management):

$2,500 to establish an osprey nesting platform

$2,500 to complete survey work along selected HCT property boundaries

$3,000 to create a trailhead kiosk map display at the Bank St. Bogs

$3,000 to create a trailhead kiosk map display at the Lee Baldwin Nature Walk

$5,000 each year to sustain and expand HCT’s vernal pool project

$10,000 to start HCT’s legal defense fund for defending conservation properties against unlawful violations

$1,000,000 to endow a permanent, full-time Land Stewardship Specialist staff position for enhancing wildlife habitat and walking trails at selected conservation destinations

Land Conservation Education:

$3,000 each year to sponsor HCT’s live owl program for all ages

$5,000 to create a full-color promotional brochure about HCT’s conservation projects

$5,000 to create a promotional brochure about making bequests and other planned giving opportunities with HCT

$15,000 to create HCT’s first comprehensive walking trail guide for conservation destinations throughout Harwich

Enhancing HCT’s Headquarters:

$2,500 to improve the office grounds with landscaping materials and plantings

$2,500 to repaint all exterior trim

$5,000 to heat the office by replacing the furnace

$10,000 to re-shingle the entire office building

$15,000 to install a solar hot water heating system

$20,000 to re-roof the entire office building

$500,000 to endow HCT’s office for all future care
